Rochelle and Liam

I thought I was going to get through 2010 without a rainy wedding day but today made it two in a row. With both Liam and Rochelle getting ready at the same hotel i was able to get some shots of the both the guys and girls preparation. How different the two apartments were. Despite the clouds the rain held off long enough to be able to have the ceremony outside which was great as the Caloundra Power Club has a really nice setting for garden weddings. As we set off for the location photos a few drops here and there, and then, down it came. We headed back to the hotel and thankfully there were some nice backdrops and again with some creative lighting the shots came out really well. I'm starting to get used to this wet weather thing.

Katie and Josh

What a day. With a few glimmers of sunshine we thought the sun might break through. No such luck. Lots (and lots) of rain. Katie did so well to manage to get out of the car and into the church while only getting a couple of water drops on her dress. A big thanks to all the helpers with the umbrellas too. St Pats is such an amazing location for a wedding ceremony and despite the weather outside and some very wet guests, the ceremony went off without a hitch. Locations are a little limited with wet weather but i do love a challenge. Being such a dark day I was able to play around with lighting and get some great dark and moody shots as well as a few 'lovey dovey' ones as well. The reception looked great and especially the lolly buffet. Took a lot of will power for me not to steal the jar of white freckles. They say rain on your wedding day is good luck so I am fairly sure these guys are set for a long and happy marriage.

Sarah-Jane and Dave E-Shoot

A bit of a hybrid shoot for this one. Sarah-Jane and Dave have both spent a lot of time restoring their own cars so i thought why not tie this in with their engagement shoot. We found a great hidden location to do the car shots and the light was great too. That orange on Dave's van looked sweet why the camera flash hit it. We then headed a little out of town to the block of land that they have bought. Great views and i'm sure you guys will have many happy years here. Can't wait to see what you come up with for the house.

Siokos Family

Just a few weeks have past and Pete and Cherie have gone from expectant parents to now having their own little girl to look after. I can't believe that she is now over a month old. It is very exciting seeing them set off on the parenting journey together. Many fun years to come :-)

Quinlan Family

With another little additon to the family it was good to catch up again with Andrew and Vanessa, see their amazing new home and see how the kids have grown up. These guys are always fantastic to photograph and the fact that their kids are both very very cute too makes life as a photographer pretty easy

Boniface Family

Nicole and her boys were all very natural and the shoot was perfect for a Saturday afternoon. Nice and relaxed and moving pretty slowly. Again some great locations in the back alleys of Toowoomba and some good light to work with. Nicole mentioned it was something like 15 years since her and brothers had some photos together so it was definitely time for an updated family shot. Glad to help guys.

Nadine and Brent

The brief was pretty straight forward. Some trendy photos of Brent and Nadine together in an urban/industrial location. Toowoomba has so many little back alleys and all are filled with great locations so i was a little spoiled for choice. Both Brent and Nadine seemed very relaxed in front of the camera and for a short shoot there was plenty of great shots from it. Another Salt Studios success story :-)

Christine and Brendan

Actually never having met Brendan or Christine face to face i was a little nervous about how the day would run. Everything was awesome! From first arriving at Christine's house and meeting their little boy everything was so warm and welcoming. Plenty of laughs and everything seemed very chilled out. Even Brendan and the boys seemed pretty relaxed. The weather held out just long enough to allow us to get some shots in a field just outside of Dalby. I love that blue sky. Very dramatic. Thanks guys for letting me a part of your big day!!
